What am I talking about? One of the characteristics of our age is an excess of experts. We have experts in the news, on the TV, on the internet, on social media, constantly bombarding our phones with more information, more facts, more opinions, more current events… than ever before. But are we any better off for it?

Ask yourself this, is the world a better place today than it was 5, 10, 15, or 20 years ago? Most people would agree that it is not, and it’s time to acknowledge one of the biggest reasons why. Somehow, as the number of experts in our lives increases, our ability to reason and make healthy decisions for ourselves seems to diminish. 

Our base of knowledge is becoming narrower and narrower, but so is our base of common sense.

Don’t surrender your life to the experts. They rarely consider the whole picture, the many aspects of your life, and they are never going to care as much about your health, your relationships, your children, your education, your money, or your life as you do.”
