In this week’s Longevity News Roundup, Phil Newman and Nina Patrick examine CRISPR gene editing, national longevity strategies, AI-powered drug discovery, next-generation health imaging, metabolic therapies, and the impact of forever chemicals on aging.

  • Intellia Therapeutics reported positive Phase 3 results for lonvo-z, a one-time in vivo CRISPR treatment for hereditary angioedema. Patients saw an 87% reduction in monthly attacks, marking the first successful pivotal Phase 3 trial of an in vivo CRISPR gene-editing therapy.
  • Canada's "Shaping Canada's Longevity Advantage" initiative, backed by Manulife and the World Economic Forum, aims to improve health, financial resilience, and social connectedness for one million Canadians within three to five years.
  • Insilico Medicine signed a collaboration with SK Biopharmaceuticals worth more than $2.5 billion in potential milestone payments. The partnership will use Insilico's Pharma.AI platform to develop therapies for neuroimmune and central nervous system disorders.
  • Midjourney unveiled plans for Midjourney Medical, a full-body imaging platform designed to create detailed body maps in approximately 60 seconds. The company plans to launch its first scanning facility in San Francisco in 2027.
  • Cambrian Bio presented Phase 1B data for ATX-304 in adults with obesity and prediabetes. After eight weeks, participants showed an 8% increase in resting metabolic rate alongside reductions in visceral fat, liver fat, and triglycerides.
  • New research linked common PFAS "forever chemicals" to accelerated epigenetic aging. The findings highlight how environmental exposures may influence biological age and why longevity strategies may need to address toxic burden alongside lifestyle interventions.
