Grant Symmonds wrote an article on SE Watch saying Keywords are dead way back in 2013 saying this, so 7 years ago. At that point, he was talking about “needs Met” as the overriding aim of the SEO. Has that changed to Topics, or is it a different side of the same coin?

Image Optimisation is something John Muller suggested was a real opportunity for SEOs moving forward. No keywords there! Any tips or thoughts on how to benefit from image search?

Do you think it is valid for SEOs to call Twitter and Facebook’s algorithms to be part of the SEO’s realm? In other words, here it is all about who sees a feed and why. For example, if I want a local restaurant now, I am just as likely to ask my friends on Facebook as Google, if not, more-so. Does an SEO now have to understand micro-influencer marketing? How do they do that!?
