Music videos have always had the ability to extend the life of a track and in some cases even outshine the song itself. With the slow decline in prominence of @mtvofficial , we’ve seen a departure from this trajectory with the ‘fast food consumption’ of media, in the form of streaming taking precedence.

In recent months, however, we have seen a resurgence in the emphasis placed by artists on the visual art form particularly in the cases of @lil-dicky – Freaky Friday, @migosatl – Walk It Talk It and Drake’s – God’s Plan.
