On Thursday last week Flody Shivambu who is former EFF deputy president and also former Secretary-General of the uMkhonto Wesizwe party announced that he will be engaging South Africans around the country about whether he should start a new political party or not. He spoke about setting up a party that is owned by the people of SA and not individuals. Shivambu’s speech takes us down memory lane where politicians who were defecting from their parties or kicked out would make all sorts of statements and promises of what they will be bringing to the electorate should they be given a chance.
