Are South Africans really xenophobia?

A 64-page report by Human Rights Watch has revealed atrocities committed against foreign nationals in our country. The report titled: They have robbed me of my life: Xenophobic Violence against Non-National in South Africa paints a very gloomy picture of how Africans and Asian foreign nationals were treated between last year March up to this year in the same month. But then what is this based on and what should we attribute the revelations to? Is it about economics as some South Africans accuse foreign nationals of taking their jobs? Also, what is it that makes South Africa attractive to foreign nationals?
