Many companies are insistent on buying product from the traditional IT infrastructure vendors. The thought process is that these companies are more established, and are therefore a safer choice than a startup or an up-and-coming company. It’s perfectly understandable, after all, these vendors are the “people we know.”  This school of thought is slowly vanishing, however. Large vendors are increasingly looking less and less like they did just five years ago, if not on the surface then definitely just underneath it. A shift is happening in the IT industry. The “safe choice” in purchasing IT infrastructure is changing as traditional IT infrastructure vendors are increasingly strained and making drastic changes to stay relevant.
