Matriarch: a woman who is the mother and head of a family.

When I was young families had Matriarch she was the oldest woman in the family. Every year she made sure the family got together for holidays and family functions. She was respected by everyone in the neighborhood gang bangers, dope fiends, young mothers everybody looked to her for advice and guidence. She might have been a cussing fiesty woman or a God fearing woman either way she didn't take no mess from anybody.  Are their any Matriarchs left?
