There’s no denying the rise in popularity of video podcasting, and as a lifelong audio/video production enthusiast I feel almost obligated to be excited about that…but I’m not. 

While I definitely enjoy and appreciate video podcasts, I do think there’s a sense for many podcasters that it’s a requirement if you want anyone to enjoy your show, which can be hugely limiting. Adding video to an audio workflow is a huge undertaking that can easily become a barrier to entry. 

So this week I’d like to explain why I personally prefer not to create video podcasts, just to provide a counter perspective for anyone who needs it.
