It turns out Aussies are afraid of things that go bump in the night , with new research revealing 72% of us are scared of the dark.
Research, conducted by Philips Lighting revealed 1 in 3 Aussies feel afraid in their own home at night, with strange noises (58%) wild imaginations (34%) and poor lighting (19%) topping the list of triggers causing Aussies to feel fearful.
The garage tops the list as the scariest room in the home, with 22% of Aussies claiming it spooks them out:
In light of Aussies fear of the dark, Philips Lighting conducted a unique social experiment to prove the right light can transform the mood of any room (even the creepiest ones!) they unhaunted one Australia’s most actively haunted locations - Manly Quarantine Station in Sydney NSW.
Using only Philips HUE, LED bulbs and minimal props, they converted the eerie location into a warm and inviting holiday home before an unsuspecting couple was invited to stay the night. View The Unhaunting here.
