Are We Overplaying Our "Climate Haven" Image in WNY?

Flooding events, including the current cataclysmic floods in the SE, have been worsening as predicted in climate models since the 1980s. While WNY is less likely to experience droughts, wildfires, and cataclysmic flooding, it must be remembered warmer air holds more water vapor than cooler air, making flooding events more likely with time. And, then there are the short-lived episodic wintry outbreaks including blizzards with times to Arctic warming. Less vulnerability? Yes. Immunity? NO.
