Are we sinners or are we saints? In Scripture, sinners and saints are often contrasted.  Sinners need to acknowledge their sin and their need for mercy.  Saints also must acknowledge sin and need mercy, but they are not characterized by sin, do not “practice” sin, and are not slaves to sin.  Jesus is the Captain of the sanctified and the King of the saints.
