It seems like everything is online these days. From job applications to shopping, even just grabbing a burger for lunch almost requires the use of an app to make it as easy as possible. And the more that things are connected, the more we are glued to our phones, bringing down the quality of other entertainment as companies realize you're going to be staring at your screen while their show/movie plays in the background anyway, so why bother upping the quality?
Now, the internet and cell phones in general provide a lot of benefits to society. Having a daughter who's now driving on her own, I can appreciate the ability to call her or for her to be able to reach me quickly in an emergency. There's also a long list of ways technology makes life more convenient. But it's also important to take some personal responsibility and learn how to use it to our benefit rather than detriment.
On The Long Way Home, Josh "Bearheart" Hawk shares stories from his life, love and past as well as Legends and Tales you can get lost in. Each episode is a drive. Sometimes, the road is covered in dirt and gravel, with clouds of dust kicking up in the rearview mirror. Others, it's a long stretch of highway fading off into the distance.
No matter what lies under the tires, the road ahead is full of promise. You might wind up in a different time zone, or even a different time altogether. The destination isn’t really important, it’s all about the journey, and the journey is made so much better when you take The Long Way Home.
