Are you actually letting yourself feel — or have you become skilled at controlling which emotions surface, and managing which ones you show depending on who is in the room?
In this fourth episode of The Inner Resolution Podcast, Ian Renaud explores the emotional dimension of The Inner Resolution Philosophy: the Emotional element of the SADHANA Approach and the Emotions level of the Seven Levels Framework. Both reach toward the same inner state — Aliveness — and both require the safety foundation explored in Episode 3 to become fully accessible.
Ian draws a clear distinction between three ways we relate to our emotions: controlling, managing, and genuinely feeling. He introduces a guided two-minute practice, a vivid analogy about emotional management at social events, and a key insight that changes everything: you cannot selectively suppress emotions. When you suppress one, you suppress them all.
In this episode[00:00] Welcome and recap of Episodes 1–3[08:00] Question 1 — Are you actually letting yourself feel?[24:25] Question 2 — What does "aliveness" actually mean?[28:05] Question 3 — What emotions are you carrying?[33:15] Question 4 — What emotions need more attention?[43:20] Question 5 — What would change if you let yourself feel more?
