We have a choice. Living in America we have a choice as to whether we will enter the fray as a follower of Jesus or hide, blending into the culture. If we blend in we can escape the ridicule that could and often does come from standing for biblical truth and the cross of Jesus. But we will forfeit being in on what God is doing in the world. If we decide to live boldly for God then we open ourselves up to all of the challenges and all of the joys of walking with Jesus as he works in people. In today's passage Esther has a choice. She can stay comfortable in the palace and sit by as the plan to exterminate the Jews is carried out or she can get involved. The choice presented to her is the choice presented to all of us. The response Esther gives us the same God desires us to have. And even more than that, the choice leads to the life that God desires us to have.
