Hunter Hansen from The Life Autistic on YouTube created a video Could you be autistic and not even know it? where he talked about 15 signs of undiagnosed autism. You should watch it.
I felt compelled after I watched it to share my experience of self-diagnosing my autism as I came to understand each one of these 15 signs in my own life over the last few years. I tell you what Hunter talks about in his video and then I personalize each sign with my own experience.
Here is a list of some of the resources that I've used to learn more about autism:
2E info: https://brightandquirky.com/bright-quirky-101-a-quick-shareable-overview-of-twice-exceptional-2e-kids/ A few common autistic traits I have and others I know have: Catastrophizing - https://www.autism.org.uk/advice-and-guidance/professional-practice/autism-catastrophising Critique- https://www.aane.org/sensitivity-to-criticism-advice-for-parents/ As well as information about RSD (Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria - which is common in ADHD folks. I honestly might also be ADHD, but I haven't looked as fully into that as Autism. Let's just say I would not be at all surprised by a dual diagnosis one day) Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria -- Causes and Treatment (webmd.com) Autistic Burn Out: https://www.spectrumnews.org/news/autistic-burnout-explained/ Aspie Quiz (a researcher out of the Netherlands put together a quiz I found that started my autistic self discover journey): https://rdos.net/eng/Aspie-quiz.php As well as various Autism groups on Facebook and some IG accounts I looked over and researched for other people on spectrum experiences. Hunter's IG @the_life_autistic and @theautisticlife (I have no idea their name, I can't find it anywhere, lol. I like their account though).
