In this session, Navigate Forward experts Anne Sample and Patti O’Leary will share what it takes for senior leaders to pivot to be “board ready.” Shay Wyley, a current Board director who serves on three corporate boards, will provide a firsthand perspective.

Anne Sample is the CEO and owner of Navigate Forward, a boutique consulting firm which provides highly customized support to senior executives who are currently in transition, planning a change in the future or seeking board service, Anne is an experienced business and HR leader with a track record of leading transformation and developing talent.   In her early career, Anne worked in a variety of HR and strategy roles for Whirlpool, Pepsi, Walker Digital and Citibank.

Patti O’Leary is a Navigate Forward consultant experienced in executive search and in dynamic corporate environments. She leverages her knowledge to help clients prepare for new career possibilities and board roles, clarify options, and develop essential tools and skills to effectively compete and achieve their ambitions in today’s executive employment marketplace.  Previous to joining Navigate Forward, Patti spent 22 years as a Principal at O’Leary & Grant, a Minneapolis based executive search firm. She has advised C-suite executives in global, national, and entrepreneurial companies in their pursuit of recruiting talented leaders. Before co-founding O’Leary & Grant, Patti held corporate leadership roles with a Fortune 50 retailer and a leading financial services corporation.

Shay Wyley is an experienced Board Director and Advisor for several privately held companies and non-profits across a variety of industries.  Currently, Shay serves on the boards of Park Industries, a leader in the stone working equipment industry, Kent Corporation, a large and diversified Agri-business and The Airtex Group, a leading designer and manufacturer in the textile industry.  In his executive career, he has also engaged with joint venture boards in The Philippines and South Africa. Shay’s executive career included 27 years at General Mills Inc., from which he retired as Managing Director of the Haagen-Dazs International Restaurant business.  For much of his career at General Mills, Shay was Managing Director of various international businesses and has completed expatriate assignments in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
