We LOVE our righteousness! Where does "righteousness" fit in to expanded consciousness and authenticity? Wherever one might look - definitions, religious teaching, etc. - it's implied that "righteousness" is "good." Yet, we know what happens when we judge something as "good" or "bad"... yep, ego...
