A teacher I know described a situation with her young student. The student, named Brock, asked her, “Do you know where the crayons are?” The teacher replied, “Have you looked for the crayons?” Brock answered, “No, I haven’t looked yet. I was hoping you could tell me where they were.” The teacher was amused. She responded, “Let me know if you can’t find them after you look.” A few minutes later, Brock came back with crayons in his hand. “I looked,” he said, “and they were exactly where they usually are.”

This situation made me chuckle. The little boy asked before even looking – and when he looked, he found exactly what he was wanting. Sometimes, we can be the same way with God. We’ll ask for something without even looking at what God already has lined up in our life. Wherever you are in life, consider that God has you there for a reason. He did not blindly plop you down without a purpose. God has placed you in your circle of friends, in your neighborhood or apartment, in your university or career for a reason. And one thing is sure, that your purpose has to do with bringing people to Him.

How can you share the Good News where you are today? How can you bring people to Jesus Christ right here and now? As Psalm 96:3 in the Bible says, let us “declare His glory…”.
