Have you ever experienced limited vision? In Psalm 73:1-28, we read a psalm written by Asaph, a singer and musician of David's and Solomon’s era, that gives us a lesson in how to deal with restoring our faith when it falters. Asaph says that he was envious of the wicked and wealthy people. His conclusion was that following God is hard and in vain. The good are challenged while the wicked prosper. The wicked seem to be blessed while the good have trouble just to live. Then, after he laments, he has a turning point. He knew if he gave up that his generations would be cursed. After an encounter with God, Asaph’s perspective changed. His faith was restored, he understood the future of the wicked, and he recognized his own ignorance. He realized that he could have total confidence and contentment in God. You ask, “How does this pertain to us 3,000 years later?” Asaph’s faith weakened when he focused on those who seem to have much on this earth. He knew that he could face any adversity here to ultimately be with God. Live in this world with a heavenly perspective. You can’t save yourself. Only Jesus can save you. Does your vision need to be checked? God’s Got This!
