The American Automobile Association (AAA) has estimated that 1 in 5 traffic fatalities in the US involves driver fatigue and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has determined that fatigue is the probable cause of 40% of recent highway crash investigations, alarming statistics that should concern anyone on the road.

What started as research into oil and gas industry fatalities specifically, Kyla Hagan-Haynes discovered so many of these fatalities were due to driver fatigue crashes, which are fully preventable when we understand the effects and impacts of fatigue on the safety of fleet drivers and take actions to mitigate this driver risk. With more than 20 years experience in public health and 12 years in the space of occupational motor vehicle safety space, Kyla's passion is now applying both her analysis and the oil and gas industry best practices across other industries that could also benefit from driver fatigue management.
