Over the past 10 years, perhaps more, Yoga and Pilates have carved a path in the fitness industry. Each come with their own types of movement and experience. Both can offer stress release, core strength, mobility, balance and breath control.

Yoga, founded in India has 11 types of practices each offering a different connection to the mind and body. Pilates, created in the 1920s by Joseph Pilates uses a more rhythmic approach allowing the body to move with grace, strength and control.

Which is right for you? It depends - yoga is stability, pilates is mobility - both are strength and balance - test the waters.

Yoga has many variations, paces, intensities - do your homework.

Pilates also has different levels beginner, intermediate, advanced - also do your homework.
