When I was a nurse, I wondered what I needed to learn to advance my career. At some point, it became obvious that just being a better nurse or having advanced degrees wasn’t going to get me where I wanted to go.

I wanted to have greater impact and influence. So I studied people who were doing that, and what I found about the myth of being technically awesome is that the people who succeed are the people who develop OTHER skills. So I began developing those other skills.
