Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, He becomes the fulfillment of the temple as the unique place God dwells with His people. The church is later called the temple with Jesus as the cornerstone (1 Pet. 2:4-8; Eph. 2:19-22). Jesus’ zeal for the temple should therefore lead us to have a robust zeal for Christ and His church.
