Join me in this captivating episode as I sit down with Lauren Sharifi, MPH, RD, LDN, to dive into the fascinating world of nutrition and specifically ARFID. Lauren's journey into the realm of nutrition, fueled by her love for science, cooking, and making a positive impact, led her to establish her own private practice in a gym after completing the coordinated program at UCONN. Recognizing a lack of resources for individuals with ARFID, she founded ARFID.Dietitian to bridge the gap and provide much-needed support. With a majority of adult clients, Lauren's work has taught her valuable insights that inform her approach to working with children with ARFID, focusing on neurodivergent affirming practices. Her responsive and supportive approach aims to create a safe environment that promotes autonomy and well-being. She challenges conventional feeding advice, embracing individual preferences and removing shame surrounding eating differences.
