Notes From The Episode 📝:

1. THERE IS NO SINGLE PIECE OF EVIDENCE THAT CAN DEFINITIVELY PROVE THE EXISTENCE OF GOD!!!

(Maybe add video of atheist saying that no evidence will convince them???)

2. Morality as an argument for God’s existence. (Correlation to point 6)

             -C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity

3. Everything in existence had a beginning.

             -second law of thermodynamics

-God is outside time, timeless. Verse: 2Peter 3:8, Revelation 1:8, Hebrews 7:3, Psalm 90:4.

4. Verses about God’s existence: 2 Peter 3:10, Romans 1:18 -25, Psalm 14:1

4a. Truth

             Is truth important?

             What is Truth?

Correspondence theory of truth: Something, a thought or belief, is true if it corresponds with reality.

                             Truth is logical

-          To use logic assumes the correspondence theory of truth.

-          Logic presupposes that truth is real. Without Truth, there is no logic.

-          This gives us first principles, which are self-evident truths that cannot be denied and are logical.

-          All logic can be reduced to the law of noncontradiction. No two opposite statements can both be true at the same time in the same sense.

-          The use of logic assumes the existence of truths in the real world.

5. Types of truth

-          Relative Truth

     a. The beliefs of the subject, or circumstances thereabout, determine whether a fact is true or not.

     b. personal preferences or opinions are examples of subjective truths

     c. These truths can change with differing circumstances.

     d. Leads to relativism or relative truth

-          Objective Truth

     a. We have established that Truth corresponds too reality and must be logical.

     b. Therefore Truth is objective.

     c. It exists outside of personal beliefs, opinions, and circumstances

     d. Facts (Truths) don’t care about your feelings.

6. Relativism

             - What if all truth is subjective/relative?

             - “Live your truth” “that’s true for you but not for me”

             a. Problems of relativism

                             1. Ravi – “Truth, by definition, is exclusive” If truth were all inclusive, nothing could be called false. If nothing is false, everything could be said to be false, thus        making Truth irrelevant. Back to C.S. Lewis’ point of a standard.

                             2. If there is not a standard or absolute truth, anything goes and there is no way to make any logical assessments about reality.

                             3. Relativism leads to absurd logical outcomes.

                             4. No room for Morality, Ethics

                             5. defies the law of noncontradiction and allows for impossibilities.

                             6. A is and is not B simultaneously

7. Verses on Truth

             - John 14:6 “I am the way, The truth, and the light…..

             - John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth…..

8. Without God There is no objective truth. There is no moral standard. There is only relative truth.

             - Society pushes the idea of relativism. Not a new idea.

             - Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.”

             - Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; Who can know it?
