  • 3:09pm - The USDA (the United States Department of Agriculture) announced that they’re tracking a second type of bird flu that has been found in US dairy cows for the first time.

  • 3:54pm - Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced he will not be attending the G20 summit in Johannesburg; he says “South Africa is using G20 to promote solidarity, equality, and sustainability. In other words, DEI and climate change. My job is to advance America’s national interests, not waste taxpayer money or coddle anti-Americanism”.

  • 4:31pm - Federal employees at NOAA (the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) – the US federal agency that monitors and models the oceans and atmosphere for the purpose of predicting changes in climate and weather – received orders to temporarily cease communications with foreign nationals, including those working directly with the US government.

  • 6:00pm - Blake Lively has been sued by a Texas crisis communications specialist for defamation, claiming that she pulled him into her legal fight with Justin Baldoni and that he had nothing to do with any campaign to harm her reputation.

  • 6:08pm - HGTV star Christina Haack hard launched her new relationship with Network Connex CEO Christopher Larocca via Instagram post where they’re sipping champagne on a private jet.

  • 6:20pm - Argentina’s president Javier Milei announced that he’s banning gender-affirming care for Argentinians under the age of 18; this comes a week after he gave a speech at Davos during which he slammed “wokeism”, feminism, and referred to homosexuals as pedophiles.

  • 7:42pm - Remember when I told you that we weren’t sure what position Andreessen Horowitz was hiring Daniel Penny for, well their investors had a similar question. Last night, they received numerous messages from outsiders and limited partners expressing concern. Jen Kha, the firm’s head of investor relations, said that Daniel Penny’s military veteran experience can be helpful in building relationships with active-duty military, veterans, chiefs of police, and sheriffs.

  • 8:02pm - Attorneys at the Justice Department have agreed to temporarily restrict Elon Musk’s staffers in DOGE’s access to information in the Treasury Department’s payment system, coming after a group of union members and retirees sued the Treasury Department alleging that providing access to the personal data housed there violated federal privacy laws.

  • 8:20pm - The Texas Rangers have announced that they’re inducting two-time World Series shortstop Elvis Andrus, who started more games at one position than any player in Texas Rangers franchise history, into the team’s Hall of Fame this summer.

  • 8:50pm - Ariana Grande sang live on Jimmy Kimmel’s show.

  • 9:28pm - WWE star Charlotte Flair filed for divorce from her husband, Andrade El Idolo.
