In their own words: I'm a 4th year PhD candidate at Virginia Commonwealth University studying how forest disturbances shape ecosystem structure, carbon cycling, and long-term ecological stability of Northern hardwood forests in Michigan. Before grad school, I worked for public lands and universities, as a biological technician, where I developed a passion for making ecological work more accessible and inclusive. I try to continue to advance both science and equity through her service with the Virginia Wilderness Committee and as a co-chair of the American Geophysical Union’s Biogeosciences Early Career Committee. I'm dedicated to producing science that informs forest conservation, while helping build a more inclusive and representative environmental workforce.
