History and Establishment

The Arkansas Supreme Court was established in 1836, the same year Arkansas was admitted as the 25th state of the Union. Initially, the court was composed of three justices, but it has since expanded to seven justices to accommodate the growing demands of the state’s legal system. Over the years, the court has evolved, adapting to changes in the state’s constitution and legal framework.
