LaTasha Brize grew up in Champaign, Illinois, raised by a single mother who struggled to keep food on the table by working at an industrial factory. Her mother always encouraged her and her two younger siblings to get a higher education so they could pursue better opportunities. Motivated by her mother’s hardworking example and sage advice, Brize eventually earned a bachelor’s degree and started her own health care staffing agency. She wrote Armed with Persistence to tell the story of her arduous, yet rewarding journey.
