In the 81st episode of Around The Waves on KCOU 88.1 FM, Luca Vitale, and Ben Schmidt begin the day with the "Take A Swing" segment, where they debate if Mizzou baseball can steal one game in Gainesville and if Mizzou softball can ride their five-game winning streak into College Station. Although Mizzou baseball defeated SIUE in their mid-week contest, the Tigers are in danger of missing the SEC Tournament as only Ole Miss currently has a worse conference record than Mizzou. The teams with the worst two records will miss the tournament. The series opener between Mizzou and Florida is today. First pitch is at 6:00 CT.
Meanwhile, Mizzou softball hopes to win its first SEC series of the season against Texas A&M. Game 1 of that series is today. Around The Waves then transitions "Onto the ice," where Luca discusses which NHL team has been the most disappointing in the first round. Following hockey, the crew discusses the storylines of the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Lastly, the crew then transitions to the NBA where Ben discusses the Miami Heat's surprise series win over the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks.
