Arousal Outside Marriage and Jesus Command to Come

Matthew 14:1-36; Exodus 20:14

In today's message, we learn about Herod, who was so aroused that he had innocent John the Baptist killed. Herod beheaded John because he was committing adultery with his brother's wife. John the Baptist confronted him because, as we know from the Ten Commandments, we are not to commit such acts. This command was true then, and it remains true today.

When Jesus walked on water, He told Peter to come to Him, and Peter was able to walk on water as well. However, he became distracted by the wind and began to doubt, causing him to sink. When Jesus commands us to do something, it is for our best interest to follow His instructions. It's important to remember that Jesus will not ask you to do something that contradicts His Word. Therefore, it's crucial to assess if what you are asked to do aligns with His teachings.
Today, I urge you to refrain from all sexual sins, including sexting, cybersex, phone sex, adultery, and pedophilia, as they offer no eternal or future benefits. Instead, focus on doing the things that Jesus commands and that align with His Word.
