As if being bounced to the Europa League weren't bad enough, Manchester United received arguably the most difficult draw possible and will face a former City rival in the knockout stages next spring. Likewise, Arsenal may find it difficult to continue their strong European form as Benfica will present new and difficult challenges to a Gunners team that is already in great difficulty in Premier League play. Elsewhere, Tottenham will feel fortunate having drawn one of the competition's weaker teams while Lille and Ajax promises to be the standout fixture on Thursday evenings next spring.
