This video is what I presented for my dissertation defense. The purpose of this study is to determine if art education can assist students in cultivating self-efficacy and divergent thinking.
Students need opportunities to cultivate self-efficacy and divergent thinking at earlier stages of education to be comfortable exploring, experimenting, and learning from their mistakes.
Self-efficacy is beneficial for students to be content with making mistakes and continuing to persist in finding solutions to problems.
Divergent thinking encourages students to think and learn differently, which is vital for innovation to occur in the students’ future careers and higher education.
