Ila Patnaik is a professor at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy and works on open economy macroeconomics. She served as the Principal Economic Adviser during the first term of Prime Minister Modi. Her research work has provided a foundation for some of India's crucial financial sector reforms in the last decade.
