Publisher's Summary:
If ever a writer needed an introduction, Arthur Conan Doyle would not be considered that man. After all, Sherlock Holmes is perhaps the most well-known literary detective of any age. Add to this canon his stories of science fiction and horror, his historical novels, his political campaigning, and his efforts in establishing a Court Of Appeal, and there is little room for anything else. Except he was also a poet. Not perhaps the finest but his distinctive voice is certainly evident amongst his lines and verses. And its a voice worth listening to; something very different from what you might expect. So without further ado our readers, including Richard Mitchley and Ghizela Rowe bring you the poems of Arthur Conan Doyle.
Members Reviews:
OK but Not Great
The story drawn by Geary is excellent, but the others are not so well drawn or told. One of your issues, as a potential buyer, is how much you enjoy the R. Geary drawn stories. I enjoy them very much so I feel the price of the book was within reason; however, unless you thoroughly enjoy Mr. Geary's work this book might be a let down. Most of the stories are not mysterious but are rather adventure stories, and most of them are poorly drawn compared to Mr. Geary's style, which is displayed on the cover. For example, if you like a more broad stroke less detailed style of drawing Mr. J. W. Pierard may appeal to you. All of the artists, outside of Geary, in this book have that broader style.
Please note the drawings are not in color as shown to on the cover. The entire book is black and white.
