In this Looney Tunes review, we take a look at 'A Hick, A Slick, and A Chick,' directed by Art Davies and released on March 13, 1948. We discuss the plot, which revolves around a hick mouse named Elmo competing with a slick mouse named Blackie for the affections of Daisy Lu. Joined by my co-host, Manny Cruz, we delve into the animation style, similarities to an earlier cartoon 'The Hick Chick,' and highlight some standout scenes and gags, including the final cat character and its Jimmy Durante voice impersonation. We rate the cartoon and share our overall thoughts on Davis's work.
