This paper surveys the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in systematic literature reviews, focusing on the screening and extraction phases. The authors rigorously analyze 21 SLR tools, evaluating them based on a framework of 34 features (11 AI-specific and 23 general). The study also examines 11 newer tools utilizing large language models (LLMs) for literature searching and academic writing.
