James Ingram
Born: February 17th, 1953
Died: January 29th, 2019
Raised in a Christian home with his five siblings, James Ingram was surrounded by music throughout his early life. It was no surprise that he chose to be a professional musician as his life's career. He taught himself to play piano, bass, drums, and guitar, but never considered himself a vocalist. However, Quincy Jones heard a demo of a song written by Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil, with James singing the vocals. Quincy asked James to sing on his upcoming album and... for the rest of the story, you will have to tune in!
If you don't recognize James Ingram by his name or photos, you definitely would recognize his songs! He was a 2-time Grammy winner and was nominated for 14 other awards, including two Academy Awards for Best Original Song.
