Sandy Bull is the artist of choice this time around. Bull played the guitar, banjo, pedal steel guitar, and oud on compositions that combine melodies of the east with jazz from the west in extended, and often improvised, pieces. Bull's 1965 album, "Inventions", was even name dropped by Hunter S. Thompson as a personal favourite.
