In the deep podcast we discuss the importance of activism as artists and meet the talented award-winning actress, international model, and Hollywood influencer Tatiana Lee. Tatiana serves as a Hollywood Inclusionist at RespectAbility, a non-profit organization whose mission is to fight stigmas and advance opportunities for people with disabilities.
Media and Social Media play a vital role in the influence upon societal values and peoples fixed beliefs. Whether it's people with disabilities, people of colour, people in the LGBTIQ Communities, gender roles, agesim, body image or self worth. Much of our views on the roles of artists come down to unrealistic expectations and stigmas that the media not only continue to enforce but as we've learned in these strange new times, often exasperate. Whilst its never easy to have these conversations, we must open our hearts and minds to the experiences of others because only then will we truly understand the importance of empathy. It is only when the world can find itself without conversation about these issues we know the change has been created.
Tatiana is a passionate woman, that has a drive unlike no other. Listening to her I not only have the power to learn more about myself, I learn more about those in the world that fight battles I could never even imagine. Being a true artists is more than just the glitz and glamour, its about creating space for people to be seen and heard. This woman is loud and proud, and it's impossible not to be inspired by her.
