A photography course at an alternative school in Henderson, has been a life changer for the teenagers involved. Their photographs and people's stories they gathered at the same time, were shown in an exhibition called Humans of Hendo and published in two books. A few days ago, some of the class took their first plane ride to Wellington to receive an Arts Access Aotearoa Award at Parliament.
