Sundance 2014 was all about Whiplash - Damien Chazelle's directorial debut, a sort of music-conservatory-set version of To Sir With Love . . . only without the love. It stars Miles Teller (Mr. Fantastic from the upcoming Fantastic Four film) and J.K. Simmons (J.Jonah Jameson from Raimi's Spider-Man, the loveable nazi from Oz). We discuss the film along with themes of genius, spoiled-brattedness, and Stockholm syndrome.
