Despite the most daunting odds thrown at them by the third wave lockdown restrictions, the Soweto Threatre is proud to present a new live stage play, A Raisin in the Sun. Directed by the critically-acclaimed, Dr. Jerry Mofokeng wa Makhetha, the theatre has worked in partnership with the United States Mission to South Africa to bring together a stellar cast for this Lorraine Hansberry original. Set in the 1950s, A Raisin In The Sun tells the story of an African American family’s desire and aspirations to move beyond segregation and disenfranchisement.
