As a young intellectual, Adam Small strongly advocated for the use of one’s voice. It was this medium which he used to denounce various human rights abuses under the Apartheid government. Small used various platforms such as newspaper columns, open letters, his poems, plays, essays and public speaking. Our next guest created a theatrical production that helps us explore the works of this poet and how his work still helps us to recognise our origins, how to recognise ourselves in others and how to explore our shared future. The production has won five Fiësta awards in 2021, including the Best Festival Production. It is currently running at the ArtsScape in Cape Town until Sunday
