Listen Later

When the devil tries to tempt Jesus with all of the kingdoms of the world in all their glory and asks Jesus to bow down and worship him, the only really impressive thing he does is that he manages to aggravate the most patient person in the world. Not only isn't Jesus fooled by the spectacle before Him, but the picture Satan presents and the audacity of his demand stands in wild contrast to the one true and living God that is standing before him. Seeing the world in the kind of glory that Satan revels in is nothing but a reminder of why Jesus comes to lay down His life for us in the first place. Jesus shows us how to see the world how it really is and how we can come to Him with every decision big or small because of who He is and what we mean to Him.
Joshua teaches us how to get some perspective on who God really is and what we mean to Him. When we choose to serve the Lord we are aligning ourselves with pure love, power, wisdom, and truth. We are aligning ourselves with God who is with us in everything we do, big or small.
Put these two together and it is really good news for us.
