Scripture:
“He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” — Matthew 28:6
There is a difference between hearing a promise… and seeing it fulfilled.
In this episode of Digging Another Well, we reflect on the resurrection of Jesus and the powerful phrase spoken by the angel at the tomb: “as He said.”
The women who came to the tomb that morning had heard Jesus speak about His resurrection. They had been given the promise. But between the promise and its fulfillment stood a cross, a burial, and days of silence that must have felt long and uncertain.
Then everything changed.
The stone was rolled away.
The tomb was empty.
And the promise became reality.
As He said.
These two words remind us that nothing about the resurrection was accidental. It was not a last-minute rescue or an unexpected outcome. It was the plan all along — spoken clearly, fulfilled completely.
And every promise God has made carries that same assurance.
The promise of forgiveness…
The promise of peace…
The promise that He will never leave us…
All of it will be fulfilled — exactly as He said.
Because the tomb is empty, we can trust every word He has spoken. The resurrection is not just something we celebrate — it is the foundation for everything we believe.
If you are waiting on something God has promised, this devotional is a reminder: the space between promise and fulfillment does not mean it has been forgotten.
He is risen.
Exactly as He said.
And every promise still stands.
