My sisters and brothers, today’s podcast is about, the Love Jesus has for us, for you and for me. Our podcast song is, As I Have Loved You, and these words are powerful words which our Lord Jesus Himself speaks to us, to you and me through the Gospels. I love reading the Gospels. I know that if your childhood was anything like mine, then Scriptures were left unread, because you were not encouraged to read them. Time has changed since I was a child, and now we are encouraged to pray the Scriptures. To be able to pray the Scriptures is a true blessing. A blessing that our parents did not have in those days, it was quite the opposite, you know, for the church did not encourage Bible reading, not before Vatican two. Only since Vatican Two has the Church encouraged Bible reading. And I, my friends, encourage you through the inspirations of the Holy Spirit to read the Scriptures. Start with the New Testament, read the four Gospels for they are all about Jesus, and the words of Jesus truly will capture your heart. The Gospels are a powerful tool which we have been given through the inspirations of the Holy Spirit. These are about Jesus, His works, His Words, His Healing, His Ministry, and yes His Cross, but also His promise. God is Love.
I remember in the year of 1987. I was living in Pittsfield, N. H. where I became a music minister for a little Catholic Church there called, Our Lady of Lourdes. I was also engaged in Bible classes there. Yes, the Bible was being read and we all took part in reading it. I remember meditating on the words, ‘God is Love’, and how deeply His love is for all His people. As I read this Gospel passage on John 15: 9-17, I could hear something that seemed to sound like music inside my very soul. I wasn’t sure what I was hearing, but when I picked up my guitar to play it, words with music just kept pouring out of me as I fought back my tears. Yes, tears, but these tears were of joy. I receive tears of joy every time the Lord puts a new song in my heart. Just knowing that our songs come from God’s Love, touches me so deeply every time. I am always in Awe of God’s Love! God’s love for you, me, for everyone of us.
