The CPSC and Pacific Cycle are recalling Ascend Cabrillo and Minaret Electric Bikes due to defective wiring harnesses that overheat during battery charging leading to fires and burns.
About 1700 electric bikes were sold at Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s stores nationwide and online at basspro.com and cabelas.com.
Stop riding and especially stop charging these e-bikes. Go online and enter your bike’s serial number at pacific-cycle.com/safety-notices-recalls to confirm that your bike is part of the recall. If so, return the bike to Bass Pro Shops or Cabela’s to receive a refund.
