Today we are talking about Ash Wednesday. It is the start of the season of Lent, which is the 40 days before Easter when Jesus rose from the dead. Ashes are the sign of repentance. We can use this season to start cleaning up the things inside of us. We do need a word of caution here...do not make a big show of it. God isn't pleased by our grand public statements of repentance when there is nothing going on inside of us. God is always after the heart not the big show we try and put on.
